MSA 2060 compatibilty with HPE 10GBase-T SFP+ Transceiver

Hi everyone,

I have HPE MSA 2060 10GbE iSCSI SFF Storage [R0Q76A] with SFP+ ports for connecting to hosts. However, my server adapters as well as my switches only support RJ-45 connectivity. I wonder if could use HPE 10GBase-T SFP+ Transceivers 813874-B21 with my MSA 2060 to connect it to switches over copper cables?

I couldn't find anything regarding the compatibility of MSA 2060 10GbE iSCSI with the aforementioned SFP+ to RJ-45 transceivers.
Any thoughts on this?

Yes, I think so. I haven't tested though.

Specification says it is compatible.

Transceiver compatibility is general, any vendor, any system that has the port for the transceiver.

I guess opinions on this are a bit contradicting cause I took this question up to a local HPE distributor who couldn't confirm the compatibility either. In fact, he said these transceivers won't work with MSA 2060 SFP+ ports.

In my understanding, if the port and connector both are SPF+, they are compatible.

The MSA product family will ONLY work with SFPs which are on the MSA Quickspec.  The 10Gb SFP RJ-45 whether HPE branded or not will NOT work in the MSA 2060.
The MSA 2060 recently released an 10G Base-T SKU:  R7J73A
I would suggest working with your HPE representative to explore options for replacing the SFP+ system.
