MSA P2000 G3 FC migrate RAID-10 to RAID-6

Hi,

I would like to migrate a RAID-10 VDISK to a RAID-6 ! How can i perfom this please ?

I initialy thought of making a new RAID-6 VDISK and moving the volumes to the new VDISK.

How ever i don't know how to proceed. Can any one help please ?

Hello @Yousuf_N,

 

In MSA, it is not possible to migrate from one raid level to another!!

You must create a new RAID6 Vdisks and then migrate data from old R10 to new R6.

EVA and 3par supports RAID migration.

You need to map the R6 vdisk to the same host as R10 and then copy the data.

However if you are connecting the new R6 vdisk to different host then you need to perform host based migration.
