MSA1000 loses connection to ESX hosts.

I have 5 ESX 3.5 hosts connected (using Multi pathing) to an old MSA1000. Each ESX host has two fibre mezzanine cards connected to two external Brocade 32 port FC switches, these in turn connect to each I/O module in the back of the MSA1000. Every so often, the ESX hosts lose connection to the SAN, we then have to power down all virtual servers, followed by all ESX hosts, then followed by the MSA1000. We the bring them all back in the reverse order which temporarily resumes the service. Is there anywhere I can start looking to see if there are any problems within the infrastructure.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: MSA1000 loses connection to ESX hosts.

What firmware are you running on the MSA controllers?

ESX 3.5 is supporting on and MSA1000 in Active/Passive mode using 5.30 (recommended) or 4.48 firmware versions.

SPOCK doesn't show any ESX support for Active/Active firmware versions.

Re: MSA1000 loses connection to ESX hosts.

Unfortunately, the new SPOCK database is not properly/completely filled with data :-(

Apart from that, as far as I know, the MSA1000/1500cs do not support ESX V3.5.
