MSA1500 cs volume size

Hi,

What is the maximum size of a volume that can be configured and presented to a server?

I have seen in the quick specs that a 2TB logical disk limit is mentioned.

We have a need for a 5+ TB single volume if there is a 2TB limit is there a way round this?

Many Thanks,

Andy Osborne.

Re: MSA1500 cs volume size

You don't specify the operating system, but on some you can use host-based RAID-0 or a volume manager to overcome that limit.

Thanks for your reply,

It will be Windows 2003

Re: MSA1500 cs volume size

Then you should be able to collect a few LUNs in a dynamic disk (Windows 2003 has a 'lite' volume manager), except if you run clustering with the enterprise edition...

Re: MSA1500 cs volume size

I thought it was a no, no to use dynamic disks on top of a hardware raid.
