MSA2012i Dual controller, one Procurve 180024G Switch
Hello Folks,
Could someone speak to preformance and or setup of this configuration?
I have a MSA 2012i with one expansion encloseure and a dual Controller. Currently it is attached to one procurve switch. I originally had it on 2, but this caused issues with the way Virtual Iron (now Oracle VM) booted its node Servers. (they wouldnt boot because the nodes could not see the primry controller on the SAN.) Is there a preformance hit by using one switch?
I think on the VI side, I have to have two NIC's bonded to reach the SAN. I dont think I can have one non bonded nic going to one switch and the other non bonded nic going to a different switch which all feed into the same MSA. But as I am also a newbie on the VI side of things, I am at the VI tech support's mercy. And right now, those guys are in a state of flux with the buyout of VI to Oracle, so Im not getting much help at this moment in time. Any help here is appreciated.
thanks
-Joe

Second switch is used more for failover then for performance.
