MSA2012i controller crashing during volume expansion
I have found this advisory and firmware upgrade should solve the issue.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=3687128&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c01509710
My concerns however are due to live servers running on the storage (vmware) and also due to the expansion still in progress...
it is currently 42% and has been going on for a couple of days!
I have been trying to contact an HP engineer for the last 2 hours with no luck.
Is it safe to proceed with fw upgrade immediately or should we wait till the expansion is complete?
This will leave us with an unstable environment for a couple of days unless there is a way to pause or cancel the expansion safely.
Has anyone encountered this issue?
