MSA2040 - SAS to SAN conversion - OS X iSCSI needed

We have a MSA2040 Setup with single SAS controller, attached to a DL160G6 via SAS.

 

i have the idea to change our storage configuration, and therefor change the SAS Controller to 

the converged SAN Controller. The future Setup should be based on iSCSI

 

Anyone done that before? 

Which issues can i ran in?

 

Has someone used a similar setup together with an OS X Server and the ATTO software iSCSI initiator?
