MSA30 with non-HP controller.

Did anyone successfully connect MSA30 with non-HP RAID controller such as Adaptec or Intel?

As I understand, some EMU information (such as Hot Plug event) accessible only with HP controllers?

Re: MSA30 with non-HP controller.

Is there ability to manage MSA30 with non-SA controllers? I think it's possible, but not recommended. Unfortunately I haven't experience about asked configuration.

Re: MSA30 with non-HP controller.

What do you intend to 'manage' on the MSA30? It is a SCSI disk drive enclosure - there is no embedded RAID-controller like the MSA20.

Re: MSA30 with non-HP controller.

There is a list of supported SCSI adapters on MSA30 quickspecs page, therefore all other hardware you may connect on your own risk. Manage mean that SCSI HBA "recognized" MSA30 JBOD.

I try once to connect MSA30 to adaptec, only to satisfy my curiosity, and it doesn't work, so forget that combination.

Different Adaptec adapters use different interfaces - are you sure you did match them?

Ups, fingers are faster than mind

I mismatched MSA30 with MSA20. MSA30 works fine with diferent non HP RAID HBA.

Simon, did thease controllers support HDD hot-plug with MSA30? Did LEDs on HDDs work as supposed?
