MSA500 working on ML370 G2 and not DL380G2
Our company some time ago originally purchased a "Compaq ProLiant DL380 G2 Packaged Cluster"
see link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=254869&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=254869&objectID=c00376760
We now wish to connect the MSA500 to not the originally purchased DL380G2 but an ML370G2.
The 5i controller on the ML370 during boot up does not detect the MSA500 like it does during boot up on the DL380. When windows 2003 loads on the ML370 it does detect two "Compaq Smart Array CL SCSI Array Device" in device manager but requires drivers for the hardware, which i cannot find.
I have updated the firmware maintence from the firmware maintenace CD 7.7 on the ML370G2. Any further help would be of great advantage.
Barry.

Re: MSA500 working on ML370 G2 and not DL380G2
Hey Barry
Have you tried to connect the MSA500 to a SA532 Controller?

Re: MSA500 working on ML370 G2 and not DL380G2
Unfortunately I do not have access to SCSI controller cards other than a Raid Controller Card 641?
Thanks
Barry

Re: MSA500 working on ML370 G2 and not DL380G2
Barry,
The MSA 500G1 only worked with 5 series SmartArrays.
The MSA 500G2 only works with the 6 series, more specifically, SA642. There may be one other 6 series.
