Re: One loop connection lost

The I/O screen would be more helpful.

However, this could be a hardware or firmware issue.

The disk has version HP05, but version HP09 is current!

Consider to pull the drive and push it back, update the firmware!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: One loop connection lost

Command View 9.3 - Likely that the XCS firmware is also old.

One loop connection lost

Hi,

Please see my io status on attached file.

Also, I want to one question

when i ungroup the harddisk . Its shown the alert message.

Message:-------

If you remove this disk from its disk group, you may cause one or more Vdisks to operate in reduced state. You may also remove any disk failure protection in place. If you are sure you wish to continue, enter "YES" and click the Continue button:

Continue   Cancel

so,

How to determine

How to find out

Which VDISK belong to the perticular disk ?

Thanks

Re: One loop connection lost

This is just the default message to make you aware of the change.
If you have enough free space nothing bad will happen.

Any vdisk may belong to each disk within the diskgroup.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: One loop connection lost

Hi,

we have16 hpux serversand these servers are connected to storage.

we see the harddisk information on storage.

for example:---

Disk Bay     Disk Drive       General I/O

Identification Name: Disk 037  Loop: 1  Node WWN: 2000-001D-3819-6F5D  UUID:

2000-001d-...-0000-0000

Physical Type: Online  Formatted capacity: 136.73 GB  Model number: BF146DA47C   Serial number: 3QN0KQ5S  Firmware version: HP05  Condition/State Operational state: One loop connection lost Data state: Not migrating Data progress: n/a Failure prediction: No Media accessible: Yes
System Requested usage: Grouped Actual usage: Grouped Disk group: Default Disk Group Occupancy: 92.74 GB

My quey is that

This harddisk belongs to which hpux server or assign?

if you have any command to see the storage harddisk serial no or model no. which run on HP-UX Machine ?

Anyway

Thanks a lot.

Thanks

Re: One loop connection lost

The EVA is a VIRTUAL array, this means LUNs are created accross *all* disks within a diskgroup.

If you ungroup a disk, the system will copy all data from this disk to another disk until the disk is empty.

As said, no problem unless there is not enough free space within the diskgroup.

Hope this helps!

Re: One loop connection lost

Hi Aamir,
There is storage virtualization in play. EVA is aggregating storage space of multiple drives in a disk group. This is done to scatter data across more physical spindles then normal RAID will allow. Resulting in better performance. EVA will decide which drive data should be written to.
Based on error you might want to upgrade firmware before anything else
Hope this helps
Cheers!!
