P2000 G3 FC/iSCSi Firmware upgrade from TS230 to TS251P006-02(9 Sep 2014)

Hello,

The firmware upgrade for the controllers has been running for 130 minutes and is currently showing 'FTP>>Please wait' and has been for the past 70 minutes. It has then said (from the log file)

It still appears to be trying to update the controller firmware. It has been running 140 minutes now

Should I try and stop the updating process? When I login to the managment GUI it doesn't list any of the hosts, enclosures etc

Try to SSH to one of the controllers and do

# show system

# show controllers

to get a status.

thanks for your reply. The firmware upgrade has just completed, unsuccessfully

I can login to controller A but not controller B

All the SAN information and configuration has vanished - no vdisks, hosts etc are listed. It appears that the firmware upgrade has wiped all settings. Do you know if there is a way to bring back all the config settings?

What do the commands show?

I assume you just have no access to the disks, hence no data.

Power Down/Disconnect the Hosts, if not already.

Power Down the MSA

Unseat/Remove Controller B.

Power ON MSA on Controller A.

Log in to SMU and verify the status of the Vdisks and Volumes.

If everything is fine then seat/Insert the Controller B.

After, inserting the Controller B if system becomes unstable then it is possible we have a component failure.
