P2000 G3 Supercapacitor failure.

Supercapacitor failure. Status : cell 2 voltage is too high (28), State: failure (12) (p2: 3972, p3:0)

P2000 G3. I checked the system event

English: Supercapacitor failure. Status: cell 2 voltage is too high (28), State: failure (12) (p2: 3972, p3: 0)

Was printed. I think the capacitor is out, but I'm new to storage, so I'm looking for help. Is it a problem that can be solved by simply replacing the capacitors? P2000 Motherboard manual is not available

What is this situation and how do I resolve it? Please give a lot of advice.

Hello,

We do publish the Events seen for the P2000. You can access our Event Guide here: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03791995

The P2000 is a system that is close to End of Support Life (EOSL). The recommendations for a failed Supercapacitor is to replace the controller. You cannot access the capacitor or the motherboard without opening the controller, which violates the warranty on the controller.

There are improvements in the P2000 firmware for better reporting. I suggest you be sure toverify your system to the latest supported firmware. You can review the firmware versions by accessing this link: https://h41111.www4.hpe.com/storage/msafirmware.html

If you can't find the component that is causing the events to occur, gather a fresh set of store.logs, then please open a support case with HPE Support using the following web link, if the unit is under warranty: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home

If the unit is out of warranty, you can open a chat support case with HPE using the following web link to check for options: https://pg-receiver-pro.glb.itcs.hpe.com/WCLWeb/WCLEntry.aspx

Cheers,
Shawn
