Performance of HP EVA Storage

Looking to purchase a HP EVA Storage cabinet, and would ask the Administrators of the world on the performance. Microcode upgrades truely non-disruptive? How has the Virtualization worked(good, bad, and uglies)?

Re: Performance of HP EVA Storage

It's the best storage system I've seen in the market yet compared to price/performance and modularity.
Last friday I upgraded 2 EVA's with +- 800 users online. No problem.
Last VCS code is good (3014) the next one (3020) does support 300GB FC drives and 250 GB FATA drives. So a good system if you ask me.

Re: Performance of HP EVA Storage

I agree with Erwin - it has become a good system (have been working since version 1 with the EVA).

The virtualization makes handling quite easy when I compare this to the management of HSG or SmartArray controllers. Deletion of some objects seems a bit slow to me, but I think they are working on this.

Re: Performance of HP EVA Storage

I just upgraded to the latest microcode, mid-spetember. Microcode updates are disruptive, all servers and mainly database must be shutdown ,they might corrupt.
Virtualization works great.
