Present LUN to virtual guest
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is an easy way to present an existing logical disk (LUN) of a MSA2312fc to a virtual guest in a Hyper-V environment through the fiber storage controller that is installed in the Hyper-V host (so no iSCSI) ?
Tanks in advance,
Ronald T.

Re: Present LUN to virtual guest
don't virtual hosts in Hyper-V get a virtual WWPN?
Or maybe you don't have NPIV..
Why do you want to do it through this controller inside the hyper-v host?

Re: Present LUN to virtual guest
Hi,
Indeed there is no NPIV available. The situation is as follows:
There is a lot of data stored on a logical drive on the MSA. This LUN is presented to a physical machine. That machine will be replaced by a virtual machine, which needs to access the same data. So I want to present the current logical disk to the virtual machine.
Don't know if this is possible at all though or should I use a passthrough disk in Hyper-V ?
Thanks for your reply.
