Presenting RAW SAN storage to VMware Guest OS.

HI all,
Sorry if this is the wrong place but I couldn't see a vmware forum.
Is it possable to present raw storage, say from and EVA or XP array to a VM guest OS as opposed to from a datastore.

We are looking at using virtual servers for or DR environment but they will need to be able to access the same luns as the physical servers when failed over.

Any views or oppinions on this would be helpful.

Thanks
D

There are VMware categories in the ITRC forums:

It uses a different login account...

On VMware ESX you can map a SAN LUN to a virtual machine's parallel SCSI adapter target address, e.g. 0:1. This is called a Raw Device Mapping (RDM) and is offerend in different modes (virtual, physical). Note that it does NOT mean that the VM is equipped with a Fibre Channel adapter.
