Raid1+0 over 3 MSDA's

question

if you have 1x msa1000 with 2 x msa30 attached via scsi. then configure one large volume to span all 3 shelf's. you then carve up this volume in to diffrent sized partitions.

what would happen if you lost one of the Msa 30's? would you lose all the presented partions or would they still be avalible to the windows server?

cheers

Theoretically, the MSA firmware puts mirrored chunks onto different disk drives in different SCSI busses, so you should be safe - at least that is what a HP employee wrote quite some time ago here on ITRC.
