Read Performance Degradation in VMWare ESX3.5.4

We are using VMWare on a blade running RedHat 5 64Bit utilizing the FC1143 4GB PCIx HBA talking to a Brocade 6.2.E fiber switch to a Compellent array. We see awsome write performance but we are seeing only about 80 mb per sec on the reads. Has anyone experienced a similar situation adn found a resolution? Pretty far out quesion but we are a bit frustrated!
