SAN FCA2257P on Solaris Problem
We have an EVA3000 SAN and at installation, we put an FCA2257P card into a Sun box using Solaris v8. We loaded the driver software and the SAN disk was available. Recently the Sun box was reinstalled with Solaris v9, and we followed the same driver software installation. The controller for the SAN card shows up, but Solaris doesn't create the disk files. Documentation conflicts on whether Secure Path is required, since there is only one SAN card in the Sun. Has anyone worked with this and can clarify? Thanks!

Re: SAN FCA2257P on Solaris Problem
Hi Jenny,
SecurePath is not required for access to the EVA. Without SecurePath you will need the CPQfcraid package installed. You can find this package on the EMA platform kit. Here is the link http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=326994&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=326992&swEnvOID=1088
Download both the 'Solaris 8.7B Platform kit' and the 'Sun Solaris EVA 3.0B Platform Kit'. Install the 8.7B platform kit and then the EVA 3.0B - you can ignore the message to install SecurePath.

Re: SAN FCA2257P on Solaris Problem
Thanks for the response. I finally had called HP support and they basically told me the same information, with a bit of explanation. I did install the software as you noted and things worked after that.
