SAN Question with VMS
Hi. I have a client with an HSG80 SAN with OpenVMS(7.3-1) and Windows 2000 hosts. All hosts are single attached and no zoning on the switches. I would like to implement zoning in their fabric and I know on HP-UX hosts this can cause device ID's to shift. Is this also the case with OpenVMS? I have limited Unix knowledge so any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave
Thanks.

Re: SAN Question with VMS
HP-UX uses the target's N_PortID to build the hardware path. I am not aware that zoning can change this ID.
OpenVMS is not Unix and uses a completely different mechanism for device mapping, which is not affected by zoning unless you cut off the path to the target(s).
