SAN switch 16-EL Supportability
Hi there,
I┬┤m facing wierd intermitent behaviour in my SAN, as once in a while W2003 Clusters loose access to the quorum disks in the storages. Most of the times when we┬┤re performing some operations with disks on other servers in the same SAN. We┬┤re going to implement zoning, so as to separate the environments, and as we were planning, we realised there are 4 2GB "Emulex LP952 FV3.82A1 DV5-4.82A16". As my switches are 1GB, Are these adapter supported?
Thanks in Advance,
Izo Camacho

Re: SAN switch 16-EL Supportability
The HBA and version depends on what storage array and what OS/platform combination you have. For example, if using the EVA 4x00/6x00/8x00, the LP952 should have firmware of 3.93a0(recommended) or 3.92a2(minimum). The Windows driver depends: For the Storport driver, 5-1.20a7 or 5-1.11x1. For the SCSI Miniport driver, 5-5.30a2 or 5-5.20a10. Also, the SAN Switch 16-EL is only supported with the firmware versions 2.6.2d (recommended) or 2.6.2c (minimum).
So you should update the firmware on your switches, and update the firmware on your HBAs. And not yet being zoned can also be a problem.

Note: While I am an HPE Employee, all of my comments (whether noted or not), are my own and are not any official representation of the company

Re: SAN switch 16-EL Supportability
Sorry for the lack of information. I run Win2003 Servers (some are Clustered, and some are standalone), the SAN switch is at 2.6.1c and the storage are 2 MA8000 V8.7F-7.
