Secure Path needed for RA4100 storage on Proliant Servers on W2K advance Server
Hello Friends !!
One of our customer needs to use their existing storage RA4100 on the new 2XDL380G3 servers in cluster with No Single Point of Failure with Windows 2000 advance server.
The customer has dual 1GB 8 port SAN switch 176219-B21. Kindly let me know whether the 120186-B21 (FC HBA would be ok to use on the DL380G3 which only has PCI-X slots only. The customer needs only a 1GB adapter since the Switch is a 1GB.
Also since secure path V3.1B P/N: 213076-B22 is now End of Life, what is the new part number that can be used for connecting 2XDL380G3 in cluster using Windows 2000 advance server. An early reply from someone would be really appreciated.

Re: Secure Path needed for RA4100 storage on Proliant Servers on W2K advance Server
4.0c is the recommended Secure Path version for Win2003.
You can use any PCI coard in a PCI-X slot, as it is backward compatible. (It is not as advisable to put a 64-bit card in a 32 bitt slot, though.)
I am not sure about the RA4100 controller compatibility, though. You need to check the compatiblity matrix and other documentation you will find at http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ra4100san/index.html.
It doesn't look like the RA4100 (a retired product) is a supported solution.

Re: Secure Path needed for RA4100 storage on Proliant Servers on W2K advance Server
Hello !!
Thanks for the response.
I tried the URL but that page is moved.
All I need to know what is the secure path I now can use for a Windows 2000 Advance Server running on 2 X DL380G3 server running in a cluster with NSPOF.
Anyone who can answer on this will be really appreciated.
Thanks and Best Regards

Re: Secure Path needed for RA4100 storage on Proliant Servers on W2K advance Server
That page disappeared very quickly, because that was an active link when I cut and pasted it into this window. That page had everything you needed for a RA4100 SAN solution. If you have an HP rep, contact them about that.
This is the RA4100 SAN Soultion software site, if it is at all helpful. It was good right now. Hurry before it is deleted.
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/RA4100SANSS/documentation.html
Secure Path Version 4.0c is the current release. Win2K is supported back through v3.0b, at least. I suggest the 4.0x versions, though.
The Secure path siteis at:
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/sanworks/secure-path/spwin.html.
The key to all of this is the hardware compatibility. Secure Path is only supported for the MSA1000 and the EVA line of controllers, as far as I can tell.
