StorageWorks MSA 1000

My msa1000 has two 2/8 switches installed and two controllers. I need to reboot the controller on the right. I locked it up and cannot access it from the CLI. Because this controller is locked up i cannot access the other controller either.

Connected to the f/c switch is another san which is in production. If i remove this controller from the box will the switch be affected?

I need the switch to remain up and unaffected during the controller removal. How does this work?

Contacted HP Support and they said "You Crazy!" Shut it all down and bring it all backup up, Fool!

:)

No the switch should not be affected.
And if that controller is aleary in a lock-up state it shouldnt either cause any IO problems when reseating it as its already failed.
Or do i misunderstand you when you say "locked up"?
