Storevirtual 4335 F3J70B
Hello,
I am hoping someone can clarify some points based on sales information we were given from a supplier.
We are yet to purchase this product.
We have been told that with 2 nodes we can expect 12TB of usable storage?
We have been told that the data will be live on both nodes for speed and data protection.
I am unsure how the above is possible? If one node was lost there would only be 7.5TB of disks available? How would 12TB be able to exist still? Something must be lost?
Can someone help clarify the above and aid my understanding of the system?
Thanks
Robbie

Re: Storevirtual 4335 F3J70B
You can choose beteeen maximum Space and maximum availability.
Each Node have 7.4TB gross.
2x 7.4TB with Network Raid 0 = 14TB
If one complete Node fails, you have nothing.
2x 7.4TB with Network Raid 1 = 7TB
If one complete Node fails, you have remaining 7TB online.
You can create Volumes with R0 and R1 at the same Time.

Re: Storevirtual 4335 F3J70B
If we were told we were going to have 12TB and the devices were doing synchronous replication what network raid level would that be? Both HP and SAN partner came up with these figures but cant find the working out
From what I can see 12TB is usable storage with no network raid? Which I'm guessing is 6TB in Synchronous replication?
In terms of expansion what options are available? We are looking at approx 20K to achieve 6TB^ by adding 2 nodes
