The device, \Device\Scsi\CPQKGPSA1, is not ready for access yet.

We are receiving the error The device, \Device\Scsi\CPQKGPSA1, is not ready for access yet on both our backup client and our backup server - both using Legato.
We have made no changes to our system. The error started occuring about a week ago. This error is causing our backups to fail. When we restart the backup job it runs successfully - we do not need to reboot the server. We have several network monitoring tools in place and none of them are reporting any networking problems. The client and backup server are both win2k with sp2 installed. There are 2 fiber cards in the server and 1 fiber card in the client.
Any ideas?

Re: The device, \Device\Scsi\CPQKGPSA1, is not ready for access yet.

we have a same problem. We have tried connect directly the server to the library throught SCSI port and the performance went up and the error look like not appears but we need to use NSR ROuter 1200 because we have 3 clusters to acces to the library...
Our error:

The device, \Device\Scsi\CPQKGPSA1, did not respond within the timeout period.

One question. Your performance is good?
I think our performance is very bad: 200MB/minute

Thanks.

You need to check per fibre port speed on the fabric switch.
I know that the error speed port will clause the problem.
