I am afraid you have to order it from HP. Last time I checked only very recent versions of the platform kits for ACS V8.7 have been made available for a free download.

Are there patch levels for the platform kits? Is there just one version of Solution Kit for Windows 2000 v8.6 CDROM?

Hello Walter,
I have never seen patches to the Platform Kit itself. There have, however, been revisions (e.g. V8.6A) - as far as I can tell that has always been a complete new distribution.

Apart from that there are firmware and driver update available from the adapter's "homepage" and finally there are patches for ACS (V8.6 is at the bottom of that page) available, too:
