WWN in CV EVA 6

i have found i have more than 8 WWN under the ports tab in command view but i can not match any of them up to any attached host.

i have checked them in both the GUI of DEVICE manager (we are using cisco switches) and also the command line on the switch and none of the WWN are there

is there any other way of checking were they have come from.

also is there anyway of purging them from CV that will not cause any disruption to the EVA

cheers

Sometimes it seems to work when you create a host, add the WWNs and delete the host afterwards.

Re: WWN in CV EVA 6

I meant: create a 'dummy' host entry that you can safely delete afterwards.

The EVA seems to cache WWNs sometimes and does not forget them.

Re: WWN in CV EVA 6

Rebooting the EVA Controllers themselves should cause them to forget any cached WWNs.

Re: WWN in CV EVA 6

Slim,

Can you trace the WWN back through the SAN switches to the port and see if it matches the WWN of that device?

Also, make sure for some reason you aren't seeing the switches in this list.
