Windows 2003 Clustering with MSA 1500 Storage
Hi
I have 2 identical DL580 G5 and 1 identical HBA each server,
2 MSA1000 Controllers on MSA1500
1 Disk Shelf (14 x 146 GB SCSI disk on)
2 F/O modules
2 SCSI modules
no fiber sw or hub
And question
Is it possible to make active/passive SQL cluster with this configuration?
I tried but node 2 can nor initialize disks.
Thanks for replies.

Re: Windows 2003 Clustering with MSA 1500 Storage
It is not possible. Both nodes must have paths to the active AND the standby controller at the same time. That means each host must have TWO Fibre Channel ports, because no FC port must be able to access the active and the passive controller at the same time.
If I remember correctly, Microsoft does not support Windows 2003 MSCS with FC hubs.
