Windows 2003 Enterprise and can't see HSG80 storage

Recently upgraded Exchange servers to new platform (DL580 G2) running Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. We re-used the original HBAs
The servers have storage both on an EVA and HSG80s. After the upgrade, we could no longer see the HSG80 storage. I could see the connections were online to the controller and the LUNs were running. This happened on two separate servers. Here's a quick rundown of the environment:

DL580 G2
Windows 2003 Enterprise
ACS 8.7b Platform kit
(2) 2404 1Gb HBAs w/ a16 driver and 3.82 f/w
(also tried 3.92 f/w with no luck)
SecurePath 4.0c

Mark,
have the connections been authorized access to the units?
> SET Dn ENABLE_ACCESS_PATH=(con1,con2)

Have you checked if the connections have a UNIT_OFFSET that prevents access? E.g. unit is D10, but offset is 20 - so D0..D19 are not visible.

Re: Windows 2003 Enterprise and can't see HSG80 storage

Uwe,

All good ideas but no, this is all good. Keep in mind this was all running previous to swapping out the server hardware and upgrading to 2003 OS. The RAIDsets were existing, the LUNs were existing, CONS on the HSGs were exisitng, the HBAs were existing, no Zoning changes on the switch. I've even tried creating new LUNs and presenting them with no luck. Appears to be some kind of software problem. I'm running ACS 8.6S-8 and 8.7F-1. I'm going to upgrade ACS to 8.6S-13 and see of that helps??

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Windows 2003 Enterprise and can't see HSG80 storage

Back with an update. I upgraded the HSG80 pair that was running 8.6S-8 to -13 and now I can present the LUN to the host just fine. I'm not real sure it was the upgrade and not the reboot of the controllers afterwards that fixed it. Especially since I'm already running 8.7F-1 on the other problem controller pair. I'm just going to reboot those controllers first before I upgrade them to prove it was the update or the reboot.

According to the support matrix for clusters on Windows 2003 and HSG80 you need to be at ACS8.7-3 or higher. We're up to 8.7-7 now, if not even higher. As far as I can see you don't mention if you're running a cluster though.
I further assume you're running the HSG80 pair in multibus mode since you have SecurePath.
