error accessing msa2324i (hangs on usersSet requested)
Hi,
We have a MSA2324i (G2) that we are trying to add a new shelf (D2700) to. I can login to the MSA2324i (using web browser) with no issues as long as the new D2700 is not plugged in. As soon as I plug the D2700 (G3) then the web browser gets most of the way through the login, but hangs on the usersSet requested message. If I unplug the D2700 (and wait a little time), then I can log into the MSA2324i again.
We thought it was because the G2 version of the MSA2324i had an old version of the firmware. We updated it to the latest (M112R14-03), but still, as soon as we plug in the D2700, we can no longer login to the MSA2324i and administer the system.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: error accessing msa2324i (hangs on usersSet requested)
Hi,
I would expect this to have something to do with that the D2*00 shelves aren't listed as supported with the MSA2000 G2.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13187_emea/13187_emea.HTML
The expansion enclosures are AJ749A or AJ750A or an MSA70.
AFAIK the D2*00 enclosures are for the P2000 G3.

Re: error accessing msa2324i (hangs on usersSet requested)
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. That makes some sense. It's too bad that the HP website is confusing as to which drive enclosures to purchase (i.e., the D2700 vs. the MSA70) now that the MSA2324i is no longer available.
We purchased two new controllers (BK829A - P2000 G3 iSCSI MSA Controller) that we hope to use to upgrade the MSA2324i with. We found some instructions for this process at:
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA0-8304ENW.pdf
At the bottom of Page 6 of this document there is some verbiage that makes us believe that our new D2700 will be supported once we upgrade the controllers on the MSA2324i.
Would you agree?

Pretty nice that you can upgrade to the P2000 G3 from the G2.
