have to use sautil command to see disks everytime maintenance reboot of rp3440 accesing MSA30

Every time you do data
center maintenance involving a MSA30 array of 5 disks, the array believes that one of the
disks has been exchanged .. and I have to use the "accept_media_xchg" option
of the sautil command ::

      Sautil /dev/ciss4 accept_media_xchg 1

Once this is done, I am able to access the logical volume again .. and
vary on the volume group.  This happens every time we have a complete
shutdown of this sytem ..

Something is working not as well as should be, anyone has an idea why this can occur??

Thanks in advance

This is strange.

Usually you use accept_media_xchg in a scenario like this:

Let's say you have a RAID0 on a single disk, the disk fails and you replace the disk. The logical drive is still FAILED (since the data is gone) and not presented to the OS.

Using accept_media_xchg you bring the logical drive back online, but in this case without any data.

It would be interesting to see the sautil / saconfig output after such reboot. Maybe you have bad firmware on controllers and disks or even a bad disk?

Hope this helps!

I attach both sautil from mvdh03 and mvdh05 servers connected to msa30, on mvdh03 there is no problem while on mvdh05 there is a problem when it is booted

PS: I see that fimware versions are different on the servers and that the one with problem has an older one

But currently there is no problem except the old firmware and the failed battery, right?

Hope this helps!

What should be the firmware version and where to download it?

Thanks
