Mike,
the error could be in many places. We need a bit more details about your configuration.

Re: hsg80 and windows server 2003

ok...Well I created the logical disk and presented it to a windows server 2000 and it worked...So I believe it is a problem with windows server 2003. Are you aware of any issues with windows server 2003 and the hsg80 disk presentation?

Hi

Are your HSG80 in transparent mode or multibus mode?
There is a problem with win 2003 and transparent mode. If a controller fails the host can't failover.
The sulotion for this is secure path even for transparent.

You can use preferd path to fix this.

I am having the same problem using an Emulex LP8000 adapter. You have to use the driver that came with the card. The Windows driver will install correctly but you can't see any drives. In Win 2k3 it won't let you install the driver off the disk. It forces you to use the windows driver.

Some of the servers see the drives, using either the driver Windows 2003 installed or as it was upgraded using the Compaq driver. I 've been able to install both but still not connecting to a drive. When I got into device manager under disks, nothing is there, but the scsi section shows the Emulex is there. I've been able to attach the disk to another server by going into the HSG80 controller software, and setting the access. It's multibus , no secure path. I'm trying to use one server to one LUN setup with one HBA even though we have two in the servers. (I moved secure path to a different set of servers)
