installing 64 bit/66Mhz Fiber channal adaptar in Compaq PL330
Dear all
I have installed one 64bit/66Mhz fiber channal host bus adaptor in Pl330.
now I am having SAN RA4100 ands san switch.
i want to connect this server to san.
i have configure 64 bit card in the server and connect the same to switch and SAN. but when i run array configure utility it gives a error that there is no array controller installed in the machine.
i have replace the card also but not able to solve this problem.
if any one can help me .
Pankaj

It sounds like you put the card into a 33Mhz/32bit slot. Try other slots.

Re: installing 64 bit/66Mhz Fiber channal adaptar in Compaq PL330
I don't think it's the slot. The RA4100 to the best of my knowledge does not support a switch implementation. If you have a hub try that first.
The reaason you're getting the "no array controller error" is because it can't see the controller. Boot to the smartstart CD.. if you do not get the fibre channel utilities from the main menu or you can't see the Array controller from that level then it's not configured properly.
