Hi all 

I have a San switch for MSA 1000 2/8

and I forget the user name and password for admin console 

my question how to reset the user name and password and make it as default again to get access again

It sounds like you have Brocade switch.

If yes, then you will have to restart the switch...

Connect the serial cable to console port, power recycle the switch and wait for it to display message

"Press Esc within 4 seconds..." Press Esc key and you will have the menu options. Select the one (probably 3rd) to go to Shell Prompt. There type the command

# passwd admin

Enter new password for admin users twice and reboot the switch using "reboot" command.

2/8 should be a Brocade switch.

You could also try with fibranne as password.
