"better" practices for vSphere 7.0 U3 multi-path setting?

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking about how to building vSphere 7.0 Update3 infrastructure with DL380 Gen10 and MSA 2062 12G SAS SFF dual controller model. In this case, it design for production environment. I try to figure out how to set these hardware to let it have multi-path to access volumes that create on MSA storage.

There is 2 SAS HBA on the Host server(DL380 gen10) .

Cabling:

MSA 2062 controller A SAS port #1 to DL380 SAS HBA#1 port #1

MSA 2062 controller B SAS port #1 to DL380 SAS HBA#2 port #1

to-do list:

1, connect SAS cables

2, create a host definition and check two HBA ports to make them associate to host definition in the SMU.

3, create volumes and map them to the host in the SMU.

4, create datastores on volumes created by last step, then change their device multi-path policy to "round robin".

is that all? Do I need install extra plugin for ESXi host or any other additional steps?

Just now, got reply from HPE Support Twitter account, and detail below this:

Hi, Please refer to the pages 29-31 of the HPE MSA Storage Configuration and Best Practices for VMware vSphere guide at the below web link: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/4aa4-7060enw Even though the document lists only MSA 2050, it holds good for MSA 2060 as well.
If so, Is this mean the way I wrote in this thread is executable?

Hi, The steps listed are correct. No additional plug ins needed. I guess you will be using single dual port SAS HBA card. You may consider adding one more SAS HBA on the server for controller path level load balancing.

Hi,

Please change IOPS limit in vmware to 1 from default value of 1000, if there are 2 SAS HBA cards.
