resetting msa1000 fiber channels to factory default password
This probably sounds bad but we need to get into the fiber channels on the msa1000 and we dont have a password. does anyone know how this feet can be accomplished. I would appreciate it.

Were all the accounts changed?
Dis you try the user 'factory'?
Most likely you will need to contact HP support and give them the WWN and or S/N of the switches. The S/N is on the bottom of the switches...yes that means removing the switch to get that information.
There was at one time a procedure using the Serial connection to reset the switch, which means if you are using zoning you will lose all that information. I think this procedure is switch fw dependent too. Do you know what version you were running?
The procedure had you enter certain values when prompted, then rebooting.
Again, Your best bet is to call 1-800-OKCOMPAQ and give them the S/N of the MSA to start if you don't have the switch s/n
Forgeting switch passwords is not easy to remedy.
