How to check mail routing?

Dear, gurus!

Help me , please.
I try understand, if there is any possibility to check what the mail routing is?
For example I have test.com domain. My MX record pointed to mail.test.com. I have email tester@yahoo.com. How can I see full routin path between mail.yahoo.com to mail.tets.com (and be able to see mail.relays also)?

I'll be really gratefull for a help.

Michael.

Re: How to check mail routing?

Michael,

Try using:

sendmail -v user@domain.com
TEST!
.

This should provide a verbose output of the mail.

Hope this helps,

Re: How to check mail routing?

Hi,

you can also add some debug info. May be more helpful / detailed.

echo test | mailx -s tester -- -v -d8.99 -d38.99 -d3.99 tester@yahoo.com >> out

Do a "cat out" to look at tall the info.

Hope this helps.
