To send EMS SNMP trap to Tivoli

Hello All,

I want to configure SNMP trap for EMS which will in turn talk with Tivoli management Framework & give an alert. The trap dest. ip address i hv given is of Tivoli server(a SUN machine).

Can someone pl. tell me after enabling the EMS for say eg. Lan Card(lan0) for snmp through SAM what else i need to configure on HP-UX side & then on the Tivoli sevrer.

You need to specify the trap-dest in /etc/SnmpdAgent.d/snmpd.conf. Restart the SNMP daemons.

Tivoli side you need to specify the traps to look for. According to the EMS documentation, it uses the following traps:

EMS_NORMAL_OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.7.0.1
EMS_ABNORMAL_OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.7.0.2
EMS_RESTART_OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.1.7.0.3
