cant sendmail .. to another box .. ugg !

I have in the past gotten differnt boxes to sendmail to users on a differnt box. But now I am trying to add 2 new boxes. Everything is on an internal network. And everything is set up the same. Herer is the error I am getting. Trying to sendmail to another box.

501 ... Sender domain must exist

Try nslookup web1.prod.networkip.net - apparently this domain doesn't exist, or it does exist, it points to the mail server, but the mail server is known by another name. In the latter case, you must add the hostname to /etc/mail/sendmail.cw.

/dead.letter... cannot open: Permission denied
You don't have the perms for the sendmail user to write to dead.letter.

thanks for your answer.
But I looked around and what i did was
go to user/newconfig/etc/mail to make sure I had the a good sendmail.cf file. then I edited the sendmail.cf file and on the DM i added the domain. And now it works.

You basically told sendmail to ignore DNS. Use x. That'll work too.
