mail.log error

Hi,

I get this error in mail.log frequently. Im not running NIS, how can I fix it ?

NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): NIS map mail.aliases specified, but NIS not running

Have "aliases files" in /etc/mail/service.switch

if the file /etc/mail/service.switch doesnt exist then the default for sendmail is to use nisplus for aliases. So create this file by copying the default from /etc/newconfig/etc/maik/service.switch to /etc/mail. This should contain a line at the bottom which says;
aliases files
Restart sendmail and that should stop the errors.

Only sendmail 8.7.1 and below uses service.switch.

Try checking /etc/nsswitch.conf instead.
