mailx -s
being logged in with a user other than root, the system returns the error message
ksh: syntax error: `-s' unexpected
as i su to superuser rights or log in as the root user it works fine.
can anybody help with this issue?

Execute
what mailx
and see if any differnce in the output when you execute as root and the normal user??

Problem resolved.
The paths shown by using the which command are differing --> /usr/bin/mailx (for root) /bin/mailx (for others).
