sysquery: findns error (NXDOMAIN) on computername.xxx.corp
Hi all!
I am receiving a LOT of sysquery errors like this one:
"sysquery: findns error (NXDOMAIN) computer_name.xxx.corp?".
But the problem is that that "computer_name" is a simple computer: it is not a NS or SOA server.
Indeed that computer doesn't exist in my network!
Of course, the computer_name is different evey time, always changing.
Can some of you help me?

Re: sysquery: findns error (NXDOMAIN) on computername.xxx.corp
You should try to find out were these requests come from, especially if these hosts don't exist :)
You can try to run tcpdump -n port 53 on the hosts that gets these messages in it's syslog.

yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: sysquery: findns error (NXDOMAIN) on computername.xxx.corp
It means that computer_name.xxx.corp is the target of an NS record somewhere, but there's no A record for that name. The server that was asked about the address claims it doesn't even exist.
NXDOMAIN means no such host or domain.
