what is the way to compile qpopper

I have downloaded qpopper but when I run the "make" command, there are many errors and the command exits with error code.My HpUX is 11.11 and qpopper is 4.0.4
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: what is the way to compile qpopper

Not sure what the errors are, so hard to help you out.

Few questions: 1. are you using gcc or HP/ANSI-C? If not you will need one of these first (K&R supplied compiler wont do it).

2. Did you run the configure script before make? If not, the distro will require it.

Pointers:
./configure --help
will give you loads of options

if you install gcc you will also need the binutils to obtain the assembler and other required tools.
if you use gcc you will need to download and install gnu make.

HP ANSI/C comes with a better make (imake) as well as the better compiler, etc... so you will not need gnu-binutils or gnu-make.

Also, post the errors from make to get better help!

Re: what is the way to compile qpopper

Hi Lora.

Run the configure file that comes with qpopper and post the results here.

In the qpopper source directory "./configure".

Re: what is the way to compile qpopper

Hi Lora,

IIRC then the version of qpopper you can download form the HP-UX Porting Archives is 4.0.0, too - so maybe you don't even have to compile it?

Just my $0.02,
