Re: SCOM R2 and HP Storageworks P4000 MP

Hi Peter,
The latest version of HP StorageWorks MP is v1.8. What is the version of SAN/iQ software being used?

To receive P4300 event/alerts in SCOM, Overrides for HP StorageWorks SNMP Trap catcher rule should be set correctly. This rule should be enabled for the computer (i.e. SCOM server or collection agent) that receives SNMP Traps from P4300 management software. You could verify the configuration by sending a test trap from Centralized Management Console (CMC).

Also, please verify if you have started Windows SNMP Trap service on the server that is trap destination.

Re: SCOM R2 and HP Storageworks P4000 MP

Hi

I am having the same problem and I believe I have followed the MP to the letter and still not getting any alerts.  I have sent test SNMP traps and have been using snmp catcher software and they appear to be getting to the scom server.  I have set override to true.  I have also tried add the nodes as network devices and they arrive into scom but then there is an error stating:

The device is not responding to SNMP GET - unsure what this is.

Make sure community string is correct - community string is correct

Ensure can you ping - I can ping

any ideas????

Many Thanks

C
