Storage-Works-MP

Hi there,
i have storage-works MP1.7 installed. My simple question is: Do i have to add MSL-Tape-Libs and my B-Series Switches as Network-Devices in my scom environment.

Re: Storage-Works-MP

Michael,

You don't have to add the libraries and switches as network devices. You simply have to ensure that you have enabled the rule in the HP StorageWorks Management Pack containing the phrase "SNMP Trap Catcher" on the systems that are receiving the traps from these devices. You do this by setting overrides on these systems, either directly, or by creating a group containing these systems.

Re: Storage-Works-MP

Hi,
Thanks for the Reply, good News!
Well, then we won't know, when a system just goes down, right?
So another question: Does it bother the HP-MP, when the systems are also added as SNMP-Devices in SCOM, so we have Basic-Availability Checks via the SCOM defualt SNMP-Probing.
