custom data

this forum is hopping.

this site: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/mom2007/index.html

includes this text:

Businesses using Microsoft System Center Operations Manager to manage HP ProLiant servers and BladeSystems that desire:

  • Simplest possible integration of native ProLiant and BladeSystem management capabilities
  • HP server-specific tools that are intuitively integrated within the SCOM console
  • Greater visibility of HP Servers through HP reports and with the support of the SCOM System, State, and Alert views
  • Easily manageable custom data for HP servers with the integrated HP Custom Data Manager

i've had the proliant and blade MPs installed for a long time. where do i find this "integrated hp custom data manager"? where do i find these "HP reports?"

Re: custom data

From the data sheet:

HP Custom Data Manager

The Custom Data Manager built into the management

packs enables you to enter user-defined text about

each server into the Operations Manager database.

You can enter warranty details, contact names, server

administrator name, emergency phone numbers and

other essential information associated with managing

your servers. The data is stored in the Operations

Manager database so you can easily access it in

certain views and you can export/import updates

using Microsoft Excel to automate the process.

It gets installed when u install the MP if i remember correctly.

Then under HP Servers -> Server state in the SCOM Console, select a server and under Actions u should get the option to launch it. It needs to be on the server\client running the console.

Reports..there arent any.
