proliant snmp NIC monitoring

i get alerts such as this one on maybe a dozen of my 200 proliant DL servers. all of them are using the latest nic drivers (support pack 8.3). the "proliant networks" column in a state view is also blank for these nics.

"In PerfDataSource, could not find counter Network Interface, Bytes Received/sec, HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter in Snapshot. Unable to submit Performance value."
