New Remote Labs for Use at HPE Discover and in HPE Certification Courses
It is always exciting to release new equipment for use from our remote labs by those taking our certification courses, such as with our new Synergy and Cloud System 10 kits. These new kits showcase our latest solutions and allow our remote lab users to gain access to the actual product.
I recently toured our remote lab center in Detroit, MI, where we installed our first HPE Synergy and HPE Helion CloudSystem 10 class kits. Here is one of our CS10 kits currently using Gen9 blades and 3Par storage.
This shot of the front of the HPE Synergy kit was a difficult shot from the bottom with my mobile camera in the aisle between the racks.
Of course no shots of a data center are complete without seeing what is going on behind the scenes.
I was very impressed with the team that brought both of these systems to their current working state. They did this in relatively short order, ahead of schedule for both of system installations. These types of systems are not intrinsically easy to install. They are obviously not like powering on a new laptop. But the certified professionals on staff do know how to make things seem easy. Those technically certified have the skills needed to help them successfully navigate even new solution sets, even if they are unfamiliar with them, as they draw on the learning they have from previous experience and training. Proving to themselves they are able to handle difficult certifications gives them the confidence they need in new areas. This is one infrequently seen advantage of certified professionals.
I was also impressed with the use of HPE OneView to configure everything we needed for our new HPE Synergy kit. HPE OneView is the software they use to define how compute, storage, and networking would work in the systems. Itโs single window into everything related to HPE Synergy helped ease the deployment and verification of the kit.
One of the primary reasons we rushed to get these kits ready is because they will support the free classes we are offering at HPE Discover for partners. Courses for two new certifications are being made available early at HPE Discover: HPE ASE - Synergy Solutions Integrator V1 (officially releasing 5-July-2017) and HPE ASE โ Hybrid Infrastructure and Cloud Architect V1. Many partners are already signed up for these certification classes: Integrating HPE Synergy Solutions, Rev. 17.31; and Designing HPE Hybrid Infrastructure & Cloud Solutions, Rev. 17.21. These classes are filling up quickly; but there is still time left to register and take advantage of the free partner technical training at HPE Discover. Of course, they will also be available after the event.
Although these new lab kits are used for the ILT course deliveries, there are also self-directed labs. These will also be demonstrated at HPE Discover in the Partner Ready Certification and Learning Lounge located in the Sands Conference Center - Sands 305.
In addition to offering these classes at HPE Discover, our HPE Press program manager Michael Bishop will be there selling HPE Press offerings including some of our latest titles like The Journey to Hybrid Cloud and Ideal Platforms for Optimizing IT Workloads. Michael and the HPE Press store will be in the Partner Ready Certification and Learning Lounge.
We are continuing to make improvements to our lab environment through updated kits for course delivery, improved user access and experience, and additional of self-directed labs. Please feel free to message or contact me with any comments or suggestions for improvements.
