Hi,
I have offsite notifications setup on my nbx 5000, 6.5.22p03. I know it works as I get my voicemail sent to my email. I set this up for one of my phantom mailbox users as they rarely check their voicemail. This way they get notified via email when they a voicemail and can listen to it then and delete it when they get to work. Unfortunately the phantom mailbox user is not getting any email. I know phantom mailbox users can't be notified of voicemail via a telephone line as only users with a telephone have access to a telephone line. Can phantom mailbox users be notified by email they have voicemail?
Thanks,

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
No .
Try using a dummy mac address for the tel and assign it to the user .
something like 00e0bb123456

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
I added a dummy telephone and assigned the telephone to the user. I left a VM and it didn't not send any email. The user kept the same extension (3519). Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks,

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
HI.
First of all, check and make sure that "for Urgent messages only" was not checked.. that is the default and the most common error.
If that is not it, then we would require logging.
go to the page /ip_address/sec_cont/ops/cfglog.htm
click on Event log filter -all,
output to disk
New component message filter, click on all, in custom settings, put in -1
then scroll down and click on NBXinetnot0..
at bottom of page, click apply
Now leave a vm on the extension.... wait a few minutes.
In netset ,enter /ip_address of nbx/htfs0/NBossLog.txt (watch the capital letters)
The log will come up.
cut and paste the nbxInetnot0 here for analysis.

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
Enable offsite notification for all messages is selected.
I will make the changes when everyone has gone home.

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
Ok I made the changes and nbxInetnot0 does not show up in the log. I tried leaving a VM for me and 3519. I got an email, 3519 did not.
I have the following settings for the logging:
Event Log Filter - all options checked
Output To - disk
New Component Message Filter - all checked and custom setting 0xffffffff
nbxINetNot0 - Errors Warnings Debug - fffffff
The NBossLog.txt has the following for the first 3 lines:
NBX LOGGING FACILITY LOG FILE Software Version: R6_5_22, Nov 18 2009 0406:164559:0249 Logfile Created

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
do you see in the log any DNS or SMTP messages with successful delivery? can you post your log here (just the part when you did the vm?)

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
I must not have waited longer enough for the log. I have several nbxINetNot0 entries in the log today.
I have been testing from both outside and inside VMs. I can receive email from both. The VM only user (3519) never receives any email.
I have the following in the log:
0428:164237:0384 H3LinkLayer E Got a Pkto TimeOut - Application Should Mark Device 0xe0 0xbb12 0x3456 DOWN .. 0428:164256:0769 H3LinkLayer E Got a Pkto TimeOut - Application Should Mark Device 0xe0 0xbb12 0x3456 DOWN .. 0428:164434:0596 nbxINetNot0 L Received DELIVER Msg for User:407, SessionId:29 0428:164434:0596 nbxINetNot0 L Received EMail delivery request for User:407, SessionId:29 0428:164434:0596 nbxINetNot0 L isipv4address=0 0428:164434:0596 nbxINetNot0 L Get Ip address in the first packet,send at 10.100.159.3 0428:164434:0596 nbxINetNot0 L DeliverEMail: Found Address Record: Attempting to send NBX notification via mail host 10.100.159.3 0428:164507:0115 SNTP W LI VN Mode do not conform in the SNTP packet received from the Server. ucLIVNMode: 4, ucStratum: 0 0428:164507:0115 SNTP W Invalid LI VN Mode received from the Server.
The H3LinkLayer message is when I leave a VM for 3519. The next messages are when I a VM to myself.
The bottom 2 messages are interesting for another time.
Thanks,

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
This does not show the complete string of messages for inetnot0 . Without that we cannot tell . Need to know what the server is doing ( answering the smtp request , etc ) . You need to enable nbxintenot0 and then paste the whole results on here .

Re: offsite notifications and phantom mailboxes
I have just left a VM for user 3519 at 5:22PM. I have waited 10 minutes for the system to write the data to the logs. I don't see any nbxintenot0 messages in the log during time period. I think I have it setup correctly per the picture
The only thing in the logs from that time period are:
0620:172154:0499 H3LinkLayer E Got a Pkto TimeOut - Application Should Mark Device 0xe0 0xbb12 0x3456 DOWN .. 0620:172240:0115 H3LinkLayer E Got a Pkto TimeOut - Application Should Mark Device 0xe0 0xbb12 0x3456 DOWN .. 0620:172259:0346 H3LinkLayer E Got a Pkto TimeOut - Application Should Mark Device 0xe0 0xbb12 0x3456 DOWN ..
I should note that this is still with 3519 setup to use a dummy telephone with a dummy mac address.
