4-Port Console Switch (J1473A) - Forgotton Admin Password

We have a J1473A Console Switch, but no not have access to the Administrator password.

Can anyone advise of a reset process for the password?

Hi Graham,

The only way to get it reset is to call Netserver Support at 1-800-474-6836 and say "Netserver" at the prompt. There is a complicated process to get this done. First, the support agent has to engage his backline support who will then give you some key sequence which will generate a hex code on your console. They will then need to input that hex code into a utility which will generate a password that will reset your admin password.

Thanks for your reply - can this process be completed via email? I am based in the UK and it would save on what sounds like a lengthy international call.

I did call the UK support number earlier in this process, but they had no idea how to reach this stage of troubleshooting.

Goto .. CONSOLE > recover password.

They are the only one to reset it. no other way(YET!!)
