Adding disks to an LC 2000 U3
Hi
I would like to add 3 extra disks to our LC2000
The system currently contains 3 disks (18 GB) in RAID 5. We're running W2K server.
The disks I want to add are exactly the same as the ones that are being used now.
What do I have to do:
* just plug in the 3 new disks?
* boot?
* will W2K recognize this?
* add the new space to my current drive E:?
Thanks!

Re: Adding disks to an LC 2000 U3
Wrong part of the forum for this one, but yes you can just plug the disks in as they are hot swappable you dont have to shut the system down.
You will probably have to go into Disk management on win2k to format the new disks and then you will be able to use them.
Cheers
George

Re: Adding disks to an LC 2000 U3
Hi Kevin,
If your Raid-5 connection is by an internal NetRaid controller you might have to, at boot time hit Ctrl+M to go into the Net Raid to configure your extra discs. If they are connected straight to the mother board scsi controller then it will be just what George said in his reply
cheers
